A Foreigner's Journey To Boston

One name, three catalogues

The name is a compression rather than a joke: Foreigner, Journey and Boston, run together into one phrase and one evening. The pitch reproduced across the act's booking and venue listings — the M7 Entertainment agency page, the Knuckleheads box office in Kansas City, the Neighborhood Theatre in Charlotte — is the same sentence in each place: three bands brought to life by a tribute group fronted by Brandon Miller. The structure promoters advertise is a full set of Journey hits, a full set of Foreigner hits and a set of Boston stadium material.

That is a crowded corner of the live business. FJ, trading at fjtribute.com, sells Foreigner and Journey with the same anchor songs — 'Faithfully', 'I Want to Know What Love Is', 'Feels Like The First Time', 'Don't Stop Believin''. Several other acts work the same pairing under near-identical names. Adding Boston's catalogue is one differentiator; recruiting someone who played in Boston is the more substantial one.

Brandon Miller, from Hattiesburg to the front of the stage

Miller fronts the band on lead vocals and guitar. The credit that opens almost every listing is his stint as touring guitarist with the Artimus Pyle Band, the group led by Lynyrd Skynyrd's drummer, a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee with that band. Venue copy leans on the connection heavily enough that some listings garble it, attaching Pyle's Hall of Fame status to Miller's own line.

WDAM in Mississippi reported on 24 March 2026 that Miller is a Hattiesburg native and was bringing the band's national tour back to his home town for a show at Brewsky's on 28 March. He is also the proprietor, not merely the singer: the act's own site lists management as Brandon Miller of Classic Rock Symphony LLC, with booking handled by Jimmy Dasher at Countdown Talent Agency. The band and the business are the same person, which explains both the routing and the churn described below.

The Boston alumna in the line-up

Kimberley Dahme plays rhythm guitar and keys, and is billed on every listing as 'of BOSTON'. The claim holds up. She became the first female member of Boston in 2002, making her debut with the band on New Year's Day that year at the Fiesta Bowl, playing bass and rhythm guitar and singing. She toured the Corporate America album and contributed a song of her own to it, 'With You'. She took lead vocals on Boston tracks including 'If You Were in Love' and 'God Rest Ye Metal Gentleman', and remained associated with the band into the 2010s.

Her route in has a symmetry worth noting: before joining Boston she played in a Boston covers band. Away from that catalogue she appeared on the 2010 Tommy Bolin tribute album Mister Bolin's Late Night Revival and has released several country solo records.

For a tribute act, that presence changes the proposition. The Boston third of the night is not straight impersonation but something closer to a fragment of the original band playing its own material, with the harmony and rhythm parts handled by the person who handled them on tour.

A line-up that moves

Two published rosters do not match. The band's own site, classicrocksymphony.net, lists six: Miller on lead vocals, Dahme on rhythm guitar and keys, Maxx Stewart on bass, James Beau Edwards on lead and rhythm guitar, Bobby Mertz on drums and Zach Gilbert on piano and synth. The Neighborhood Theatre's page for the Charlotte show on 30 May 2026 billed eight, and only two names carry over: Miller and Dahme, joined there by Andrew Lucas and Tyler Foos on guitars, Jim Mexdorf on piano and synth, Noah Hungate on drums, Joe Bass on bass and Miranda Sky on backing vocals.

The constants are the frontman, the Boston alumna and the name. That is ordinary for a touring tribute run as a one-owner company, though the parts are not trivial to fill: Boston and Journey both need stacked vocal harmonies and a keyboard player who can cover organ and synth, which is why every advertised configuration carries at least one dedicated piano and synth chair and, in the larger version, a separate backing vocalist.

Where the tour stands, September 2026

The routing is small rooms across the eastern and central states, and the aggregators disagree on how much of it is live. American Arenas lists three shows running through 5 November 2026; Vivid Seats lists five; Live Nation carries a December date the others do not show. Dates appearing on more than one platform: Cubby Bear in Chicago on 18 September 2026 at 7pm, City Winery Nashville on 3 October at 7.30pm, Round Mountain in Texas on 23 October, the Woodlawn Theatre in San Antonio on 24 October, Grewal Hall at 224 in Lansing on 5 November at 8pm, Electric City in Buffalo on 6 November, and a return to Brewsky's in Hattiesburg on 5 December.

Earlier in 2026 the band played Brewsky's on 28 March, the Neighborhood Theatre in Charlotte on 30 May with doors at 7pm and stage time at 8pm, and Open Chord in Knoxville on 10 July.

Pricing places the act firmly in the club tier. Vivid Seats shows entry from around $41 with an average of roughly $51; American Arenas listed Chicago from $49 and Lansing from $41, with two-figure ticket counts still unsold within weeks of the show. Knuckleheads in Kansas City admits under-21s with a guardian, which is typical of the bar-and-hall rooms on the schedule.

The room on the night

The venues tell most of the story about what a show is: Cubby Bear across the street from Wrigley Field, Minglewood Hall in Memphis, Open Chord in Knoxville, City Winery in Nashville, Grewal Hall at 224 in Lansing. These are clubs and converted halls in the few-hundred to low-thousand range, some standing, some seated at tables.

Timings are consistent — doors an hour before a 7pm or 8pm start — and none of the venue pages checked advertised a support act, which points to a single band carrying the whole night. Vivid Seats' listing for the act puts the running time at 90 minutes to two hours before any opener, consistent with the advertised three-block structure.

What is not available is a body of independent criticism. Archived setlists and published reviews are scarce for an act at this level, so the reliable description remains the one the promoters and venues put in writing: three catalogues, played straight, by a band whose selling point is that one of its members played some of that material the first time round.
