Aloha from Vegas: The Ultimate Elvis Tribute

From Fort Worth to the Graceland stage

Victor Trevino Jr was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas, and had a long apprenticeship in other people's Elvis shows before he had one with his own name on it. He spent three years playing Presley in Elvis Lives, the only touring Elvis production officially licensed and endorsed by Graceland, and put in several years as the Elvis of Legends in Concert, the long-running Las Vegas impersonator revue, appearing in its Las Vegas, Hawaii and Alabama editions. The Chandler Center for the Arts, which booked him in 2025, notes that his Legends stint ran at the Flamingo on the Strip and that he has opened for Foreigner and Boyz II Men.

The turning point was the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest, the competition Elvis Presley Enterprises stages in Memphis during Elvis Week. On 12 August 2022 Graceland announced Trevino as that year's winner, ahead of Cote Deonath in second and Brooke Wright in third, with Bruno Nesci and Radney Pennington completing the top five. The prize was twenty thousand dollars, a Gibson Elvis Dove guitar and the champion's belt, plus the right to bill himself as the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist. Some venue listings for the current tour describe him as the 2023 winner; Graceland's own announcement dates the win to 2022, and that is the year his other biographies use.

The Canadian booking agency Elvis & Co, which represents him, says his distinguishing skill on the tribute circuit is range. Most Elvis acts specialise in one era. Trevino is described as one of the few who has mastered the whole catalogue, from the fifties rock and roll through the 1968 comeback-special material to the Las Vegas concert years, and it was the Vegas years that gave him his own show.

The Kansas showroom that built the show

Before Aloha from Vegas there was The King in Concert, a starring role that Elvis & Co says led to a residency at the New Theatre in the Kansas City area. The New Theatre & Restaurant in Overland Park, Kansas, is a dinner theatre with a 900-seat room, and it became the laboratory for the current production. Aloha from Vegas opened there in early 2024 and ran until 21 April that year.

Alan Portner reviewed it for Broadway World on 17 February 2024, and his notice is the most detailed account of the show in print. He describes a room dressed to resemble a 1970s Las Vegas showroom with modern technology behind it, a ten-piece orchestra, and three backing singers, Cherise Coaches, Jessica Brooke Seals and Alyssa Byers, recreating the Sweet Inspirations, the gospel trio who sang behind Presley in Las Vegas. The setlist he lists includes Hound Dog, Love Me Tender, All Shook Up, Are You Lonesome Tonight and Jailhouse Rock, with Can't Help Falling in Love as the closer, as it was at nearly every Presley concert of the decade.

Portner's verdict was blunt: Trevino as Presley is brilliant. He wrote that the singer had shaped his baritone into a close approximation of Presley's voice, and had the phrasing and the vibrato, while performing as himself rather than as a caricature, successfully straddling the line between tribute and parody. He called him a super performer and the evening fun. He also recorded the audience business that is now part of the format: scarves handed out with kisses to the stage-side tables, and a crowd encouraged to film, cheer and holler rather than sit politely. The tour marketing now leans on that engagement, describing an eleven-week sold-out run at the New Theatre as the show's calling card.

What the show actually is

Aloha from Vegas is a concert with a narrative spine rather than a musical with a book. The producers, Showtune Productions, describe it as following Presley's journey through the 1970s, from the start of his seven-year residency at the International Hotel in Las Vegas, through the sold-out Madison Square Garden concerts, to the live satellite broadcast from Hawaii in January 1973 that gives the show its title. The songs are the ones a 1970s Presley audience would have heard: Burning Love, Suspicious Minds, Jailhouse Rock, Teddy Bear, All Shook Up and Can't Help Falling in Love are the six the producers name, and they promise more than twenty in total.

On the road the band is smaller than in Kansas. Venue listings for the 2026 dates specify a seven-piece Showtune band plus backing singers, against the ten musicians Portner counted at the New Theatre. The advertised running time is one hour and forty-five minutes. The Fulton Theatre in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, which hosted the show in May 2025, published the shape in detail: a fifty-minute first act, a twenty-minute interval and a forty-five-minute second act.

There are no records to speak of, because the act's product is the impersonation itself. The relevant body of work is a sequence of shows: Elvis Lives on tour, Legends in Concert in Las Vegas and its satellite productions, The King in Concert, and now Aloha from Vegas, which is the first to carry Trevino's Graceland title on the poster.

On the road, 2025 to 2026

After Kansas the show moved into the regional theatre and casino market that sustains tribute acts in the United States. On Sunday 30 March 2025 it played the Steena Murray Mainstage at the Chandler Center for the Arts in Arizona as a 3pm matinee, one of three Sunday tribute concerts in the venue's Showtime Series, with series tickets priced between fifty-four and ninety-six dollars. On 17 and 18 May 2025 it was at the Fulton Theatre in Lancaster as part of that house's Tribute Concert Series.

The 2026 diary continues the pattern of afternoon and early-evening bookings for an older audience. The next confirmed date is Thursday 24 September 2026 at the Tropicana Showroom in Atlantic City, New Jersey, a 3.30pm matinee; on 8 September 2026 the resale marketplace Vivid Seats listed it with twelve tickets remaining, and several coach-tour operators in Pennsylvania and New Jersey are selling it as a day trip bundled with slot play and a food credit. On 30 November and 1 December 2026 the show returns to Arizona for the Hale Concert Hall at the Hale Centre Theatre in Gilbert, again promoted by Showtune Productions with the seven-piece band and backing singers.

Where it stands now

Tribute acts live or die on two things: a sanction from the estate and word of mouth from the rooms they play. Trevino has the first, in the form of the 2022 Graceland title, which remains the nearest thing the Elvis tribute world has to a professional licence and which every venue listing repeats. The second is thinner on the public record. The only substantial critical notice of Aloha from Vegas is Portner's Kansas review from February 2024; the 2025 and 2026 bookings have generated venue copy and ticket listings rather than reviews, and no notice of the Chandler or Lancaster dates was found.

What can be said is that the show has moved from a single dinner-theatre residency to repeat bookings across three states in eighteen months, that its producers have kept the format stable, and that the star's credentials are exactly as advertised, with the one caveat that the competition win happened in 2022 rather than the 2023 some listings claim. For anyone weighing a ticket, the honest summary is a well-drilled seventies Vegas concert, sung by the man Graceland's judges picked over the field, in a two-act format that has not changed since Kansas.
