Artie 5ive: from a Bicocca side street to his first night at the Unipol Forum
Ivan Arturo Barioli has gone from cheap YouTube drill uploads in 2020 to a triple-platinum number-one album and a sold-out autumn 2026 theatre run that ends with his first Milan arena headline. The record it is named after, Vittoria, has not been released yet.
A Milan address and a number in the name
Ivan Arturo Barioli was born in Milan on 28 August 2000, to a family of Sierra Leonean descent, and grew up in Bicocca on the city's northern edge — a post-industrial district a long way from the Milan that sells itself abroad. The stage name is assembled from two local facts: Arturo, his middle name, and a nod to the five main streets at the centre of the neighbourhood he came up in. He also records under the alias La Rue La Vrai, which carries the same idea of a specific place rather than a general attitude.
The recorded trail starts in 2020 with the single "Finché siamo sbronzi", followed by "Red bandana" and "Calabasas". These were drill-adjacent tracks circulated through YouTube rather than radio, cut at the volume and expense that implies, and they put him in the same Milanese orbit as Rondodasosa and the city's other drill-schooled rappers of the same age. The classification that has stuck to him since — hip hop, drill, gangsta rap, with pop-rap edges on the hooks — dates from that period and has only partly loosened.
Commercially he operates through Trenches with distribution via ADA and Warner Music Italy. By 2026 the single credits read Steel Music, Warner Records Italy and Warner Music Italy, which is the normal signature of an act whose numbers have outgrown a single imprint.
2023, when the numbers moved
His first full-length, the mixtape Aspettando la bellavita, arrived in July 2023 and reached number eight on the FIMI albums chart, where it was certified platinum. Three of its tracks went platinum individually: "Anelli e collane" with Anna, "Top G", and the title track "ALBV". For a rapper whose previous releases had been loose singles, that was a step from a scene name to a chart act inside a single release cycle.
October 2023 did the rest. "Cadillac", a Boro single on which Barioli features, produced by Andry The Hitmaker, became his first number one on the FIMI singles chart and was certified double platinum. Two months later came Motivation 4 the Streetz, a collaborative album with Rondodasosa, which peaked at number four and was certified gold, with "Hoodrich" and "Boulevard" going gold as individual tracks. Inside fourteen months he had a platinum mixtape, a number-one single and a gold joint album, and a run of features alongside Guè, Capo Plaza, Ghali, Kid Yugi, Tony Boy and Anna.
La bellavita, and a split verdict
La bellavita, released on 28 March 2025 by Warner Music Italy, is the record that fixed his standing. Eighteen tracks across 53 minutes and 54 seconds, it was his first solo studio album and his first number one on the FIMI albums chart, as well as the best-selling physical release of its week. Seventeen of its eighteen tracks entered the Italian singles chart. It reached number 19 in Switzerland and finished eighth on the Italian year-end albums chart for 2025. Certified gold within three weeks, it went on to triple platinum, and by the first half of 2026 it was still sitting among the ten best-selling albums in the country.
The guest list reads as a map of where he had arrived: Guè on "Milano Testarossa", Niky Savage on "Bambola", Kid Yugi on "Pietà", with Tony Boy and Capo Plaza also present. The writing, meanwhile, moved away from pure drill posture towards something more inward-looking about family, money and the cost of the neighbourhood — a shift noted by Italian press covering the subsequent tour.
Critics did not line up behind the sales. Newsic scored it 7.5 out of 10; Rockol gave it 6.5. The reception summary is consistent across outlets: strong instinct for hooks and for sound selection, an identity that is clearly his own, and writing that is still catching up to both. That gap is the thing the next album has to close.
Vittoria: announced, previewed, not yet out
The third studio album, Vittoria, was announced in July 2026 — timed to FIMI confirming La bellavita's certification run — and is billed as arriving within a year of that announcement. It has been framed by his camp as a widening of direction rather than a continuation, which is the standard framing but, given the critical notes on La bellavita, also the obvious task.
Two tracks have preceded it. "Swag Music" came out on 15 May 2026, produced by Miles (Nicolò Pucciarmati), with a video directed by Marco Trentin released the same day; it peaked at number three in Italy and was certified gold. "Bop Bop" followed on 17 July 2026, built on Caribbean-leaning rhythm and tight percussion, pushed as a flow record rather than a statement one. Neither is a reinvention, but both sit further from drill than anything on the 2023 releases.
Speaking to Billboard Italia in April 2026, Barioli described himself as "practically at the end, but also at the beginning", said he now understood where he was heading over the next five years, and put what he was working on down to the growth of the previous two years. It is a rare thing for an artist in the middle of a sold-out run to describe the position as a beginning.
From three nights at Fabrique to the Forum
The live history is short and steep. The La Bellavita tour took him to Fabrique in Milan on 13, 15 and 16 October 2025, with the first of those nights sold out; tickets started at €34.50 plus fees and the shows were billed from 21:00 to 23:00. Dates at Atlantico in Rome on 21 October 2025 and Casa della Musica Federico I in Naples on 23 October 2025 followed, and he played the Parco Isola dell'Unione in Chioggia on 16 August 2026 during the festival season.
The Aspettando Vittoria Tour 2026 was announced on 9 July 2026, produced by Vivo Concerti, with presales opening at 2pm the following day. It runs across five dates: Gran Teatro Geox in Padua on 15 October, Teatro della Concordia in Venaria Reale on 17 October, Teatro Cartiere Carrara in Florence on 22 October, Atlantico in Rome on 29 October, and the Unipol Forum in Assago on 10 November. The Forum night is his first headline show at that scale and sold out within days of going on sale; the promoter's own listings now mark the run as sold out.
The structure of the run is worth noting on its own terms. Four theatre-sized rooms, a gap of roughly a fortnight, and then a 12,000-capacity arena — a tour that functions as a warm-up for one night, built around an album the audience has not heard yet.
The show, now
The autumn 2026 run is a theatre tour with one arena at the end: Padua, Venaria Reale, Florence and Rome in rooms of a few thousand through October, then the Unipol Forum in Assago on 10 November, which is his first headline show at that size. On the evidence of the comparable 2025 Fabrique dates in Milan, which were billed from 21:00 to 23:00 with tickets from €34.50 plus fees, the format is a roughly two-hour club-style set rather than a production piece — DJ-and-hype-man staging, no band — drawing on the whole catalogue from the 2023 mixtape onwards, with "Cadillac" and "Anelli e collane" as the fixed points and most of La bellavita available to him, since seventeen of its eighteen tracks charted. The two new singles, "Swag Music" and "Bop Bop", are the obvious additions, and the tour is explicitly staged as a wait for the unreleased Vittoria rather than a cycle for a record already out. Vivo Concerti lists no support act for any of the five dates. Detailed press reviews of the current run are thin on the ground; the measurable signal is ticketing, and it is unambiguous — the Forum night sold out within days of going on sale and the promoter's listings now show the full run as sold out.
