From a caravan park to the arena warm-up: Deja Vu's long road to the Pussycat Dolls tour
Deja Vu are a London-based, British-Venezuelan girl group who came together during the pandemic and reached the semi-finals of The Voice UK in 2023. This autumn they open for the reunited Pussycat Dolls across arenas in Europe and the UK, their biggest stages to date.
A caravan park, a pandemic and a message from Panama
Deja Vu formed in London in 2020, at a point when live music had all but stopped and new bands were being assembled over the internet rather than in rehearsal rooms. The three current members are Elle Botterill, Carolina Diaz and Tyrece Lewis. A fourth original member, Sophie Nascimento, has since left. The group say they spent a week together on a caravan park working out the sound they wanted, which is about as unglamorous an origin story as a pop act can have, and an honest one.
Two of the three grew up within a few miles of each other in Buckinghamshire. Botterill was a gymnast first, spending two years training with a Great Britain Olympic squad before turning to performance; she went on to play Amanda Thripp in Matilda the Musical in the West End and Brigitta von Trapp in a touring production of The Sound of Music, with children's television credits on CBBC's The Demon Headmaster and Jamie Johnson. Lewis was born and raised in High Wycombe, took a drama and performance degree and was signed by a modelling agency before deciding that music was the point.
Diaz's route was longer. Born in Venezuela and raised in Panama, she grew up on Franco de Vita, Shakira and Queen, and by 2019 was releasing her own music and singing in bars and on rooftops in Panama City. In 2020 an invitation arrived through social media to join a new group in London. She took it and relocated. That transatlantic split, and the Latin pop influence Diaz brought with her, is the thing that most obviously separates Deja Vu from the run of British girl groups.
Four chairs on ITV: The Voice UK, 2023
The group's first real exposure came on series twelve of The Voice UK, which ran on ITV1 from 4 November to 30 December 2023 with will.i.am, Anne-Marie, Sir Tom Jones and Olly Murs as coaches. Deja Vu opened the series. Their blind audition, a cover of Sam Smith and Kim Petras's Unholy, turned all four chairs. They chose Anne-Marie as their coach, telling the programme that girl power had settled it. At the time they were still a four-piece, billed as Ellé, Sophie, Tyrece and Diza, and described as having met two years earlier on social media.
In the callback round they sang Britney Spears's Lucky and progressed to the semi-finals, where Anne-Marie's team was reduced to Deja Vu, Jolie Stevens and Nia Ekanem. On 23 December 2023 the group performed Beautiful Liar, the Beyoncé and Shakira duet, and were eliminated, with Stevens going through to the final and finishing as runner-up. The series was won by the duo Jen & Liv from will.i.am's team.
A semi-final exit is not a record deal, but it did what talent shows still do best for a new act: it put a name and three faces in front of a Saturday-night audience and pushed the group's Instagram and TikTok followings sharply upwards. That following, rather than any radio hit, is what carried them through the next two years.
The records so far
Deja Vu's catalogue is short and consists entirely of singles. Get Down arrived in 2023, around the time of their television run. The releases that matter came in 2025: Hot and Hell Yeah both went to the top of the Future Hits Radio chart, a station-level ranking rather than an Official Charts entry, but a measurable sign that the songs were being played. Baddie followed in August 2025.
2026 has brought two more singles, Karma and No Better Than a Man, the second of which is the closest the group has come to a statement title. There is no album, no confirmed release date for one, and no record label credited on any of the material that could be verified. In practical terms the group has been operating as an independent act, releasing a track at a time and building the live and social side in parallel.
Judged purely on discography, this is a group still at the start. Judged on the pattern of their bookings, they are being taken seriously by promoters well ahead of the recorded work.
Where they stand now: September 2026
The development that changes everything for Deja Vu was announced on 12 March 2026, when The Pussycat Dolls, reformed as a trio of Nicole Scherzinger, Kimberly Wyatt and Ashley Roberts, revealed a new single, Club Song, and the PCD Forever Tour, staged by Live Nation to mark the twentieth anniversary of their debut album. The original plan was 53 dates, 31 in North America and 22 in Europe and the UK, with tickets going on sale on 20 March 2026 at 10am local time.
On 4 May 2026, a month before the North American leg was due to start, all but one of those dates were cancelled, with low ticket sales given as the reason. Only a West Hollywood Pride Festival appearance on 6 June went ahead. The European and UK leg survived intact, and it is that leg on which Deja Vu are booked as support alongside Lil' Kim, a pairing confirmed by the venues themselves, including The O2 in London.
The run opened at Copenhagen's Royal Arena on 9 September 2026 and moves through Oslo, Esch-sur-Alzette, Munich, Warsaw, Antwerp, Paris's Accor Arena, Zürich, Prague, Düsseldorf and Amsterdam's Ziggo Dome before crossing to the UK on 29 September at Utilita Arena Birmingham. From there it takes in Nottingham's Motorpoint Arena, First Direct Arena in Leeds, M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool, the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Utilita Arena Newcastle and Co-op Live in Manchester, closing at The O2 on 13 October 2026. For a group whose most recent Songkick listings before this were small dates in Toulouse and Duisburg, it is a jump of several orders of magnitude in room size.
What a show is like today
There are no headline Deja Vu dates on sale at the moment. Songkick lists the group as off tour with nothing scheduled beyond the support run, and its tracker count sits just under ten thousand, which is a fair measure of where they are: a known name to a committed few thousand, an unknown to most of the arena crowd they are about to face.
What can be said with confidence about the current show is its shape. At The O2 doors open at 6.30pm, with Deja Vu and Lil' Kim playing before a headline set built around the Pussycat Dolls' 2005 catalogue, their choreography-led staging and the new single. A support slot on a bill like this typically means a short, tightly run set on a stage dressed for someone else, and the group's own material, the five singles from 2023 to 2026, is more than enough to fill it, with the television covers held in reserve.
Reviews of the European opening nights were not yet published at the time of writing, so there is no independent account of how the group's set lands in an arena, and nothing here should be read as one. What is on record is the group's track record on a live television stage: three rounds on The Voice UK in which harmony-driven pop covers were delivered well enough to turn four chairs and reach the last dozen. The autumn will show whether that translates to a 20,000-capacity room. It is the biggest test of their six years, and the first one with a real audience.

At The O2 doors open at 6.30pm; the headline set is built around the Pussycat Dolls' twentieth-anniversary catalogue, their choreography and the 2026 single Club Song, so Deja Vu's slot will be short and early on a stage dressed for the main act. The group's own repertoire is five singles released between 2023 and 2026, plus the harmony-led covers, Unholy, Lucky and Beautiful Liar, that took them to The Voice UK semi-finals.
