William Omar Landrón has spent two and a half decades as reggaeton's self-appointed king, and after a kidney cancer scare in 2024 he is out on The Last King World Tour, which opened in Reading, Pennsylvania on 25 September 2026 and now runs into the summer of 2027.

Santurce, Vico C and The Last Don

William Omar Landrón Rivera was born on 10 February 1978 in Santurce, a district of San Juan, Puerto Rico. He came up listening to Vico C, the Puerto Rican rapper who did more than anyone to make Spanish-language hip hop a serious proposition on the island, and he arrived in reggaeton at the point where it was still moving on mixtapes and underground compilations rather than through the majors.

The record that changed his position was The Last Don, released in 2003. It sold 411,000 units in the United States and was certified gold, and it took two Billboard Latin Music Awards, for new artist and for Latin rap/hip-hop album of the year. The persona arrived fully formed with it: the Don, the boss, a singer who could switch between a hard delivery and something close to a bolero vocal inside the same track. That flexibility is why so much of the 2003 material still works on stage — 'Dale Don dale' opens his shows to this day, and 'Pobre diabla' and 'Dile' sit in the middle of the set as the songs the crowd sings rather than shouts.

He also worked as a collective rather than a solo name. The Los Bandoleros records built around him produced 'Bandoleros', the song he has used to close shows for years, and 'Los bandoleros Reloaded', which still appears in the running order two decades later.

King of Kings and the numbers behind the title

King of Kings, released in 2006, is the album the current tour is built on. It entered the Billboard 200 at number seven with 74,000 units, making it the highest-charting reggaeton album to that point, and Billboard estimated sales of more than 4.1 million copies by 2009. It produced 'Conteo' and 'Salió el sol', and it gave him the title he has never given back.

What followed was a decade of expansion away from the genre's core. iDon in 2009 pushed into electro-leaning production and produced 'Virtual Diva' and 'Sexy robótica', both of which survive in the set as the moment the staging turns cold and mechanical. The Meet the Orphans project and its sequel MTO² put a roster of younger artists around him, and the MTO² material is still used as the tape that opens the show before he walks out.

The crossover came through film. He played Rico Santos across four Fast & Furious pictures between 2009 and 2021, and 'Danza Kuduro' landed on the Fast Five soundtrack in 2011, which is how a Puerto Rican reggaeton singer ended up with a song that gets recognised in rooms where nothing else in his catalogue does. It now sits second from last in the set, immediately before 'Bandoleros', and it is the only point in the night where the audience is not primarily Spanish-speaking.

A retirement that did not hold, and a diagnosis

He announced his retirement in 2017 and it lasted about two years; he returned in 2019 with 'Ramayama'. The comeback proper was Forever King in 2023, which entered the Top Latin Albums chart at number 40 and was certified platinum. The same year he made peace with Daddy Yankee after a rivalry that had run, on and off, for most of their careers. Speaking about it in July 2026 he put it plainly: 'Today, I respect Raymond's work.'

In June 2024 he announced a cancer diagnosis and said he was cancer-free the following day, which left the story half-told at the time. He filled it in two years later, describing kidney cancer and a recovery that he framed in religious terms, recalling that he had asked God that if he was going to die, it should be quick. He is 48, and the framing of the current tour — the last king, twenty years after King of Kings — reads differently with that behind it.

He has also been careful about where he sits relative to what came after him. Asked in July 2026 about Bad Bunny's scale, he credited it to thirty-odd years of groundwork by the generation that included himself, Daddy Yankee and Tego Calderón, and called Calderón one of the most gifted songwriters the music has produced. Anuel, Jhay Cortez and Karol G have all come to him for advice.

Where he stands in late September 2026

The Back to Reggaeton Tour ran from 7 March 2024 to 30 March 2025 across three legs, finishing in Monterrey. It was his first substantial headline run in a decade, the previous one being the 2015–16 Kingdom Tour shared with Daddy Yankee. Billboard's year-end figures put it at 39.2 million dollars from 39 shows and 335,000 tickets, tenth on the Latin tours ranking for 2024. That is the number that made the current tour possible at arena scale.

Europe confirmed the demand in the summer. He headlined Cook Music Fest across three Spanish dates — Santa Cruz de Tenerife on 16 July 2026, Estadio La Cartuja in Seville on 18 July with Farruko and Greeicy, and then a stadium show at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys in Barcelona on 23 July with Beéle and Greeicy, added and put on sale on 2 March after Tenerife and Seville sold out almost immediately.

The Last King World Tour was announced on 18 May 2026 and went on general sale on 22 May, with Cardenas Marketing Network promoting in the United States and Landrón producing it himself. It opened on 25 September 2026 at the Santander Arena in Reading, Pennsylvania, with 21 American cities in the initial run through to Phoenix on 8 November. Since then the calendar has roughly doubled: close to forty dates are now on sale, carrying through North America into March 2027 and on to Europe, with the Accor Arena in Paris on 25 June 2027, the PSD Bank Dome in Düsseldorf on 27 June, the Uber Arena in Berlin on 28 June and The O2 in London on 5 July. He told an interviewer in July 2026 that a new album is coming alongside it.

The catalogue as a running order

The show is not a new-material show and does not pretend to be. Landrón described the format himself in July 2026 as roughly two hours covering everything from 2003 to the present, and the Spanish stadium dates bore that out: 24 songs in Barcelona, 19 in the shorter Seville slot, drawn almost entirely from The Last Don, King of Kings and iDon.

The shape is consistent. An MTO² tape opens, then 'Dale Don dale', 'Repórtense', 'Hasta abajo' and 'Guaya guaya' in quick succession, which front-loads the hardest material rather than saving it. The middle softens through 'Dile', 'Pobre diabla', 'Mayor que yo' and a 'Baila morena'/'Amor de colegio' medley, with 'Mayor que yo' and Daddy Yankee's 'Gata Gangster' both played as covers — an acknowledgement that a lot of his biggest moments were collaborations he does not own outright. 'Virtual Diva' and 'Sexy robótica' handle the electronic stretch, then 'Ella y yo', 'Conteo' and 'Taboo' rebuild it before 'Hasta que salga el sol', 'Danza kuduro' and 'Bandoleros' close.

Festival slots compress the same set hard. At Sueños in Chicago on 25 May 2025 he had 65 minutes and played nine songs; at Coca-Cola Flow Fest in Mexico City on 22 November 2025 he was on from 1am to 2.15am. The arena run is where the full version lives.

The show, now

A full Last King show runs around two hours, a length Landrón set out himself in July 2026, and it is almost entirely catalogue: 24 songs at the Barcelona stadium date on 23 July 2026, 19 in the shorter Seville festival slot on 18 July. A tape from the MTO² project opens, then 'Dale Don dale', 'Repórtense', 'Hasta abajo' and 'Guaya guaya' land inside the first fifteen minutes; the middle drops into 'Dile', 'Pobre diabla' and a 'Baila morena'/'Amor de colegio' medley, with 'Mayor que yo' and Daddy Yankee's 'Gata Gangster' played as covers; 'Virtual Diva' and 'Sexy robótica' cover the iDon years before 'Conteo', 'Taboo', 'Hasta que salga el sol', 'Danza kuduro' and a 'Bandoleros' close. Support on the Spanish dates came from Farruko and Greeicy in Seville and Beéle and Greeicy in Barcelona; no opener has been announced for the American arena leg. Demand is the clearest signal on how it is landing: Tenerife and Seville sold out fast enough that Barcelona's Estadi Olímpic was added on 2 March 2026, and the preceding Back to Reggaeton Tour moved 335,000 tickets across 39 shows.
