ENNI and the small, deliberate business of Glitzerpop

A Coburg-raised, Leipzig-based German pop singer who writes her own words, calls her sound Glitzerpop and has spent two years releasing singles rather than albums. In September 2026 her only date on sale is a support slot in Cologne.

Coburg, a school hallway, and a producer who made the first move

ENNI comes from Coburg in northern Bavaria, and by her own telling she was not the girl the school corridor revolved around: 1.58m tall, young-looking, on the outside of whatever counted as popular. The stage name she trades under everywhere — glaubstduenni, from the German phrase glaubst du eh nie, roughly "never believe it anyway" — carries a trace of that. Her teenage listening was Tokio Hotel and Avril Lavigne, and her teenage ambition was a band, which never quite assembled.

What did happen was a producer. Speaking to the Leipzig magazine Ahoi in an interview published on 14 October 2025, she credited the producer Parvus with getting her solo career moving at all, and the guitarist Sandro with turning studio material into something a band could play in a room. Before that she had picked up newcomer competitions around the Coburg area — the regional circuit that tends to be the only available proof of concept for a singer with no label behind her.

She now lives and works between Leipzig and studio sessions in Berlin, and is studying Latin and biology on a teacher-training track, which she describes as a useful counterweight to long nights spent on songs. It is worth saying plainly: this is an artist still building the first floor, not a career in its second act.

What Glitzerpop actually means

The word is hers, and she is specific about it rather than decorative. Glitzerpop, as she explains it, is pop first, with trap and indie pulling at the edges, and a production habit of burying small details — she calls them Earcandys — that only surface on the third or fourth listen. The bass is electronic and heavy; the surface is light.

The lyrics are the part she will not delegate. She told Ahoi that her texts are sacred to her in her own way, and that she cannot lie well, so singing somebody else's story would not survive contact with an audience. What she writes instead are coming-of-age pieces about heartbreak, working out who she is, and arguing with herself, in a German that reaches back towards poetry more often than towards rap cadence, even when the beat underneath is a trap beat.

The German alternative-pop site DIFFUS made her its recommendation of the day on 1 March 2025 for the single OK, describing a new name in the alternative-pop bubble and a track that turns relationship uncertainty into something danceable rather than mournful. She was 23 at the time. That single was produced by Hobbes, whose other credits include badchieff and Tokio Hotel — a neat closing of the loop on the teenage fandom.

The work: one album, then a decision to stop making albums

There is an album in the catalogue, IN WEISS, from the earlier phase when the project was effectively a duo with Parvus. It still sits on the streaming services under her name. It is not, however, the record she points to, and it belongs to a version of the project that has since been rebuilt.

Everything since has been singles, and that is a strategy rather than a shortage of material. The run visible on her Apple Music discography starts with CRASH in 2024, continues through 11:11, OK, GESTERN and WACH across 2025, and picks up again with HIMMEL, MEER and BLEACH in 2026. BLEACH, released on 12 June 2026, is the most recent and also the most played, sitting above AIRPODS and 16. STOCK, the last of which features FREEDOE. Each release has been built to carry a video, the videos treated as part of the song rather than an afterthought.

She has said an EP is coming, without naming it or dating it. Against the run of singles that reads less like a change of format than a point at which the singles will be asked to add up to something. Her stated aim for 2026 was blunt and unromantic: release as much as possible, play more, push the music further towards the mainstream.

Where she stands in September 2026

The measurable facts are modest and easy to check. She is booked by the German agency Goodlive Artists, with Alwin Schreiber as her agent. Her Songkick page lists roughly 225 people tracking her for concert alerts and exactly one date on sale. Her documented gig history there is thin — a 2023 night at Struwwelpeter in Kronach alongside DEEEPA — which understates the picture, because the useful shows have come as support slots and festival bookings rather than as her own ticketed dates.

The support slot that matters most so far was for Paula Hartmann, confirmed both by DIFFUS and by her booking agency, which put her in front of a German audience several orders of magnitude larger than her own. In 2025 she played the Yourstage Festival in Hof and the Feel Festival, and she has been explicit that festival stages are where she would rather prove the live case, because the band arrangement gives the electronic tracks a rock texture the recordings do not have.

What does not exist yet is a body of live criticism. German music press has covered the records — the DIFFUS piece on OK, the Ahoi interview — and the tour listings cover the billing, but no reviewer has yet filed on a full ENNI headline set. Anyone claiming otherwise is filling in a gap.

The live proposition

Her stated preference is to not play the songs as they were recorded. The electronic material goes out with a live band — the arrangements worked up with the guitarist Sandro — specifically so the trap-leaning tracks acquire some guitar weight in a room. That is the one consistent thread across her festival appearances and support slots: the record is the sketch, the band is the version.

The single date currently on sale puts that to work in a well-chosen room. Club Bahnhof Ehrenfeld in Cologne holds a few hundred, has a long history of being where German alternative acts get seen before they need bigger buildings, and on this occasion it belongs to somebody else's tour — which for an artist with eight singles and no headline circuit is the correct place to be.

The show, now

ENNI's only date on sale is the support slot on lilyisthatyou's THE FLOWERS HAVE FEELINGS TOUR at Club Bahnhof Ehrenfeld in Cologne on Friday 25 September 2026, doors at 18:00, tickets €25 in advance plus fees, promoted by Live Nation; it is one of just two German dates on that tour, the other being Berlin on 21 September. As the opener she plays a support-length set rather than a headline one, drawn from the eight singles released since CRASH in 2024 — HIMMEL, MEER and the current BLEACH among them — and she plays them with a live band rather than to tracks, an arrangement worked up with her guitarist Sandro specifically to give the electronic, bass-heavy productions some rock texture in a room. The staging is whatever the touring headliner's rig allows: Club Bahnhof Ehrenfeld is a converted railway building in Ehrenfeld holding a few hundred, so the set is played close to the front row with no production of her own. Her preference, stated in an October 2025 interview, is for exactly this kind of live presentation over the recorded versions, and her festival appearances in 2025 at Yourstage in Hof and Feel Festival followed the same model. No published review of a full ENNI set exists yet, and her Songkick page shows around 225 people tracking her with single-figure RSVPs for the Cologne night — the honest measure of where the live side of this currently sits.
