feel trip. spent fourteen months releasing singles, then booked eighteen American rooms

A Jacksonville duo formed in June 2025, feel trip. write in English and Spanish, have never released anything longer than a single, and open an 18-date headline tour of the United States in Dallas on 27 October 2026.

The question the band was built to answer

feel trip. started from a hypothetical, which the duo state plainly in their own press kit: what if The Strokes sang in Spanish. The band dates its formation to June 2025 and consists of two people, Juan Mallorca and Joseph Zapinski, who write, produce, record and perform everything under the name. Mallorca is Ecuadorian-American and based in Florida; Zapinski is Polish-American and from Texas. Both speak Spanish, which is the mechanical fact that turns the premise into something workable rather than a costume. The press kit describes the output as bilingual indie rock with punk and gothic elements, held together by melody-driven songwriting. Their Bandcamp page compresses the same idea into five words: Spanglish indie rock from Florida.

The bilingualism is not organised into separate English and Spanish releases. It runs through the catalogue and occasionally through a single title — “no quiero ser tu amigo” sits beside “another day in florida”, and “i cant wait (te quiero ver)” carries both languages in one line. Apple Music files the band under Latin, a tag that describes the language rather than the guitars.

Mallorca's long run-up

Mallorca was born in Newark, New Jersey, and raised in South Florida and Ecuador. He played guitar in bands around Palm Coast before committing to music full-time at 23, and told Voyage Jacksonville that he sings and plays guitar, keys and bass as well as producing and engineering — a skill set that explains why feel trip. can function as a two-person operation with no outside studio involvement.

The same interview records the commercial groundwork. Work with the collaborator Sean Dolich led to a sync licensing deal with Artlist in late 2020, and his music was subsequently placed in a Vogue campaign featuring Hailey Bieber and a Michael Kors advert featuring Bella Hadid. He also said he had written more than 300 songs while allowing only fourteen onto streaming services, and described his editorial rule as caring more about what the song wants than what he wants or anybody else in the room. That ratio of written to released is worth holding onto, because it is the habit that shaped what feel trip. has put out since.

Before the duo, Mallorca released under the name Huan. The Jacksonville Music Experience named the 2024 single “Finer Things” among its favourite local songs of that year, describing Huan as a Duval singer and multi-instrumentalist with a reputation for breezy, well-executed indie-pop. feel trip. is a harder, faster proposition than that, which is a reasonable argument for the change of name rather than a rebrand of the old one.

Seven singles and no album

There is no feel trip. album, and no EP. Apple Music lists seven releases, every one of them a single. Two arrived in 2025 — “how long is it gonna be like this?” and “ya no te aguanto” — followed by five across 2026: “no quiero ser tu amigo”, released on 27 February 2026, “another day in florida” on 8 May 2026, then “always something in the way (i know)”, “yo te choco” and “i cant wait (te quiero ver)”, which came out on 21 August 2026 and remains the most recent release. All of it comes through No Jodas Records, credited on the 2026 singles.

The songs are short. “no quiero ser tu amigo” runs two minutes end to end, and the release schedule has been paced at roughly one track every two months rather than gathered into a body of work. By streaming popularity the strongest four are “mi buena suerte.”, “love for you”, “ya no te aguanto” and “Más atrás”.

The Bandcamp catalogue is wider than the singles run suggests. Alongside the released tracks it carries “Black Friday”, “No Voy a Cambiar” and “Ya No Soy Un Niño”, none of which appear in the Apple Music singles list. A band with eighteen shows to fill has more material in hand than its release history implies.

Where they stand in September 2026

The audience numbers the duo publish themselves are lopsided in a way that says something about how the band was found. Their press kit lists 32,000 Spotify followers against 130,000 monthly listeners, 121,000 followers on Instagram and 31,000 on TikTok. An Instagram following close to four times the size of the Spotify following is the signature of songs that travelled as video first and as records second, and it fits a catalogue built from two-minute tracks.

The institutional recognition has arrived quickly. feel trip. hold an artist listing on the SXSW 2026 schedule, for the edition running 12–18 March 2026 in Austin — roughly nine months after the band came into existence. Between that and the autumn routing, a duo formed in June 2025 has gone from nothing to a national club and theatre circuit inside fifteen months, off the back of seven singles.

The first tour, and what is not yet known about it

The run listed on the band's own shows page covers eighteen dates between 27 October and 21 November 2026, opening at AM/FM in Dallas and closing at The Grand at The Complex in Salt Lake City. The route goes Austin, Nashville, Atlanta and Charlotte, up the eastern seaboard through Silver Spring, Boston, Philadelphia and New York, then west across Grand Rapids, Columbus, Chicago, Minneapolis, Madison, St Louis, Kansas City and Denver. Apple Music lists the Fillmore Silver Spring date on 4 November 2026 as a headline show with an 8pm start.

The rooms are the established rung above bar shows and below arenas: Scoot Inn in Austin, Exit/In in Nashville, Paradise Rock Club in Boston, the Theatre of Living Arts in Philadelphia, Irving Plaza in New York, Newport Music Hall in Columbus, House of Blues in Chicago, Fine Line in Minneapolis, Delmar Hall in St Louis. That is a booking pattern normally reached after an album, not after seven singles.

What cannot be reported yet is what the shows are like, because as of 25 September 2026 the tour has not started. No support acts are named on the band's own listings, no set length has been published, and there are no reviews of the current run in circulation. The only firm structural facts are that feel trip. is a two-person writing and performing unit headlining its own dates, and that the material it has to draw from — the seven singles plus the unreleased Bandcamp tracks — amounts to a little over a dozen songs, most of them under three minutes.

The show, now

The current tour is an 18-date headline run of the United States, opening at AM/FM in Dallas on 27 October 2026 and finishing at The Grand at The Complex in Salt Lake City on 21 November 2026, with stops including Scoot Inn in Austin, Exit/In in Nashville, Center Stage in Atlanta, the Fillmore Silver Spring, Paradise Rock Club in Boston, the Theatre of Living Arts in Philadelphia, Irving Plaza in New York, House of Blues in Chicago and Delmar Hall in St Louis — club and small-theatre rooms throughout. Apple Music lists the Silver Spring show on 4 November 2026 as a headline set with an 8pm start. Because the run had not begun as of 25 September 2026, no reviews of it exist, no support acts are named on the band's own show listings, and no set length has been published; what is known is that feel trip. perform as the two-person unit that also writes, produces and records everything, and that the available material — seven released singles plus tracks such as “Black Friday”, “No Voy a Cambiar” and “Ya No Soy Un Niño” that appear only on Bandcamp — runs to a little over a dozen songs, most of them two to three minutes long, which points to a short, fast set rather than a long one.
