From San Diego beginnings to a name on festival posters

GUDFELLA is the project of Kyle Domingo, who was born in the Philippines, grew up in San Diego and is now based in Los Angeles. Insomniac’s artist profile sets out that potted biography, noting he “hails from San Diego” and relocated to the United States in his formative years. Apple Music’s biography adds that he began releasing original singles in 2019 after a spell making remixes and mash‑ups.

The first release that travelled beyond his own channels was Always In My Mind:) on 24 August 2022. A year later, on 27 October 2023, his name sat alongside Tiësto, Tears for Fears and NIIKO X SWAE on Rule The World (Everybody), a reimagining of the Tears for Fears classic released through Capitol/Thrive. Those records mark the bridge from regional club bookings to broader attention.

Songs that shaped the lane

In 2024, GUDFELLA began a run of vocal‑led house singles. Back2u with Disco Lines arrived on 10 May 2024 via Thrive/Good Good Records, followed by Feel This Way featuring Bipolar Sunshine on 5 July 2024 with a remix pack on 16 August 2024. The thread—hook‑centred, summer‑leaning, but made for a club system—continued into 2025.

On 28 March 2025 he teamed again with Disco Lines for Sunny, released on Good Good Records; the Beatport and Spotify listings pin it to that date. Three and a half months later, on 18 July 2025, he issued his debut EP, galleria, through Thrive Music. The seven‑track set—trailered by singles and featuring collaborators including Yung Bae, Hayley May, Cailin Russo and Très Mortimer—is documented across Apple Music and Beatport, and was covered by EDM Identity on 21 July 2025 as a statement of intent rather than a compilation of loose singles. Afties with Très Mortimer also landed in that window, dated 6 June 2025 on Apple Music.

2026: ‘Morning Coffee’, Coachella, and a summer of new cuts

This year’s pivot came with Morning Coffee featuring Jitwam, released 20 March 2026 via Thrive Music; Apple Music, Shazam and SoundCloud all timestamp it to that week. Within weeks, a Vintage Culture & Volkoder remix arrived—Beatport and YouTube place the extended mix in late June 2026—helping the track move between club formats. In a Gray Area interview published 23 June 2026, Domingo said the record “hits ten times better live,” and described a broader “recalibration” that put songs first and let the rest follow.

Live, 2026 began with a Factory Town, Miami set on 17 January (the artist’s channel uploaded the full video on 23 February 2026). In April he stepped onto Coachella’s Do LaB stage—Coachella Magazine’s 29 July 2026 feature captures the full‑circle effect after years attending the festival. The encyclopaedic Coachella line‑ups page lists GUDFELLA among Weekend Two’s Do LaB programming in 2026. He told Coachella Magazine he “kept it groovy” and paced the set like a journey—language that’s audible again on the recorded Factory Town mix.

Two more releases extended the run into high summer. Gator Boots with James Poole arrived on Defected on 2 July 2026 (Apple Music and Spotify date the single; Defected’s site trailed it), and on 21 August 2026 he paired with Yamagucci and Karen Harding for Ride on Insomniac Records—Beatport, Spotify, Qobuz and Apple Music align on that release date. A left‑field crossover credit also surfaced on 8 May 2026, when The Pussycat Dolls’ digital deluxe PCD Forever added Buttons (with GUDFELLA); Universal Music’s press note lists GUDFELLA among new contributors to the reissue.

Bookings: where GUDFELLA is right now

The artist pages that aggregate touring show a dense late‑summer stretch. Apple Music’s concerts tab currently lists: North Coast Music Festival, Bridgeview, Illinois (5 September 2026); The Garden of Eden rooftop, Cleveland (6 September 2026); Floyd, Miami (12 September 2026); Terms & Conditions, Santiago de Querétaro (15 September 2026); Defected London at Drumsheds (19 September 2026); Nocturnal Wonderland, Glen Helen Regional Park, San Bernardino (20 September 2026); Hï Ibiza (23 September 2026); and The Penthouse at FIVE Palm Jumeirah, Dubai (26 September 2026).

The festival anchor points are independently listed. North Coast’s 2026 lineup page shows GUDFELLA among the bill across 4–6 September in Bridgeview. Drumsheds’ own event page for Defected on 19 September places him in the DFTD room alongside Ammo Avenue, Andy Daniell, RUZE and others between 13:30 and 22:30; RA mirrors the listing. Insomniac’s Nocturnal Wonderland site and press page both include GUDFELLA on the 19–20 September 2026 programme at Glen Helen. Later in the calendar, Insomniac’s artist page points to EDC Thailand in Phuket on 18–20 December 2026. How the records translate on stage

The emphasis in GUDFELLA’s current show is clear from recent interviews and recordings. The Coachella Magazine piece quotes him wanting the Do LaB set to be “groovy”, with rolling house grooves, soulful vocals and pacing that “lets people live inside the music.” Gray Area’s Q&A from 23 June 2026 has him saying the balance he chases is “music I’d want to play and listen to myself,” and that Morning Coffee lands hardest on a proper system. The Factory Town video from the 17 January booking shows him blending his own material—Sunny, Back2u, Morning Coffee—into a crowd‑led run of house and tech‑house that avoids quick‑cut mixing.

Because most of the dates this autumn are multi‑artist day or weekend bills—North Coast’s stadium site, Drumsheds’ three‑room day party, and Insomniac’s two‑day Nocturnal Wonderland—the format is a tightly‑built festival set with vocal hooks and ID edits doing the heavy lifting, and club headliners or label showcases setting the frame. In London on 19 September, he’s one of the DFTD artists under the Defected banner, with heavyweight names—Armand Van Helden, Basement Jaxx (DJ set), Groove Armada (DJ set), Eats Everything b2b Sam Divine—headlining the main rooms; in San Bernardino a day later he’s part of Insomniac’s long‑running Nocturnal bill. The settings vary, but the recent shows and releases point to a consistent approach.
