From anonymous Instagram clips to a 26-date headline run: ivri's compressed year

ivri is a Florida-raised, Brooklyn-based alternative musician whose 2025 debut album produced a radio-charting streaming hit; she is currently finishing a 26-date North American tour behind a Mercury Records EP released in July 2026.

From Daytona Beach to a Bushwick bedroom

ivri grew up in Daytona Beach, Florida, and what she absorbed there never resolved into a single lane: Gang Starr on one side, Twenty One Pilots and Deftones on the other, with the Cartoon Network block — Steven Universe, Adventure Time — doing as much to shape her visual imagination as any record did to shape her ear. She began making music around 2016 and 2017, and for several years the work stayed off the record entirely: snippets posted anonymously to Instagram, no face and no name attached. Producers, rappers and other songwriters sampled those snippets, which carried the sound a long way before anyone knew whose it was.

She put out her first official songs at the end of 2020, moved to New York at nineteen and settled in Bushwick, where she still lives. An early track, 'glow worms', travelled online while she was still effectively faceless. Speaking to Crave Music Magazine in October 2025, aged 23, she placed the writing ahead of the singing: 'I think I'm a better poet than I am a singer.'

star factory, then the theory of you

The first EP, star factory, arrived in 2023 and stayed inside the head. Her own framing of the pair is that the EP maps an internal world while the album documents coming out into the actual one, and carries more weight for it. the theory of you was released on 14 August 2025: eleven tracks, most of them under three minutes, the whole record done in a little over half an hour. She co-produced all of it with T.K. The Architect, her guitarist and closest collaborator.

OneWrite, writing on 1 September 2025, described the album as a move 'from delicately contemplative bedroom lo-fi to a grittier, unflinching psychedelic indie rock', picking out 'nightosphere' and 'evil lair' for their liminal guitar textures and 'slip & let go' and 'FUZZY' for shoegaze weight. Two spoken-word interludes, 'pg. 7' and 'pg. 2', each under a minute, state the record's anxieties about the future in plain speech. The closer, 'MR. BRAIN GOBBLER', is the longest thing on it at 3:41. The limited CD pressing sold out.

What 'tower of memories' did

The album's lead single changed the scale of the project. Within months 'tower of memories' had generated more than 4.5 million video creations, topped the TikTok Viral Chart and SoundCloud's rock chart, and pulled close to 100 million on-demand streams. Her account of the song is unsentimental: it concerns the people who enter a life and leave it, and how the memories can swallow a person whole.

It kept moving after the initial spike. By the summer of 2026 the track had passed 250 million streams and reached No. 30 on Alternative Rock radio — a crossover from a platform-born hit into a format that rarely adopts them. Her releases now go out through Mercury Records. The difference from the 'glow worms' moment, as she has pointed out, is that this time listeners found the face alongside the music.

The method

The production partnership with T.K. The Architect is the spine of the catalogue — he plays guitar in the band, co-produced the album and executive produced the EP that followed — which keeps the records closer to how the songs are performed than most bedroom-to-studio transitions manage. The writing works through layered metaphor rather than direct statement, which she has said is deliberate: it leaves room for several readings of the same line.

The reference points are science fiction, anime and cartoons, with Interstellar named among the films that feed the imagery. The all-lowercase styling of her name and most song titles, set against the occasional full-capitals track, she describes as a straightforward aesthetic decision rather than a code.

evidence of you

evidence of you was released on 31 July 2026 through Mercury Records: six tracks, seventeen minutes, executive produced by T.K. The Architect. It leans further into shoegaze and neo-psychedelia than the album did, and returns repeatedly to images of space and light while working on relationships, identity and the distance between versions of a self. 'Coming directly after my album the theory of you,' ivri said of it, 'my project evidence of you explores a separation in myself that extends across all of my projects.'

Two 2026 singles set it up, 'NOISE' and 'WHOEVER U WANT ME TO BE (NOTHING MORE)', and a video for 'THE GOLDEN RECORD', built on celestial imagery, landed with the EP. She played Lollapalooza on the day of release.

Where things stand, October 2026

A European headline run in spring 2026 preceded the 26-date North American tour, which opened on 18 September at Louder Than Life in Louisville and closes on 27 October at the Gramercy Theatre in New York. Ally Nicholas is the support across the itinerary, which has taken in Minneapolis, Denver, Vancouver, Seattle, Los Angeles, Dallas, Houston, Orlando, Atlanta, Nashville and Toronto.

As of 19 October, six dates remain: The Atlantis in Washington DC that evening, Adelaide Hall in Toronto on 21 October, The Foundry at the Fillmore in Philadelphia on 23 October, Space Ballroom in Hamden on 24 October, The Sinclair in Cambridge on 25 October — doors at seven, all ages — and the Gramercy on 27 October. A further booking at Fort Canning Park in Singapore is listed for 10 December.

The pace has not slackened. The EP is under three months old, the touring has run close to continuously since the spring, and the step up from a festival slot in July to sold rooms across three countries in October has happened inside a single album cycle.

The show, now

A set on the Evidence of You tour runs to roughly 19 songs and a little under an hour; the official tour setlist as published runs to 52 minutes of music, drawn from the theory of you, the evidence of you EP and the 2026 singles. It opens hard — at Houston on 11 October 2026 the first song was 'SABOTAGE', whose guitars had the floor jumping inside thirty seconds — and then works the swing between that weight and quieter stretches, including an omnichord instrumental passage in 'sphere of annihilation' during which the room swayed in unison, and 'FUZZY' from the album. The staging is built on storytelling visuals rather than scale; The Honey POP, reviewing the Houston show on 15 October, singled out those visuals and the production, and noted how much the crowd had grown since her Lollapalooza set on 31 July. Ally Nicholas opens throughout. The rooms are clubs and theatres: The Sinclair in Cambridge on 25 October has doors at 7pm for an 8pm start, all ages, and the run finishes at the Gramercy Theatre in New York on 27 October.
