Six years from a lockdown laptop to the Amnesia closing bill
Jamie Fielding is a self-taught English tech house producer who started making records in lockdown, was picked up by Jamie Jones at the end of 2020, and spent the summer of 2026 on Josh Baker's Amnesia residency with a single out on a major's dance imprint.
A lockdown start, and a demo that reached Jamie Jones
Fielding is self-taught, and the project effectively begins with the first pandemic lockdowns rather than with any apprenticeship in a booth. The reference listings place him outside London — artist databases give Clacton-on-Sea in Essex as his home town, while the trade write-ups around his 2023 releases described him as based on the south coast. Either way the point stands: the first two years of the work did not depend on being physically inside a scene.
The break came at the end of 2020, when a batch of unreleased material reached Jamie Jones, who runs Hot Creations and the Paradise parties. What followed was the usual route for a producer picked up that way — no album, no manifesto, just singles and EPs placed across other people's labels. Hottrax, Solid Grooves Raw, Sola and COCO all took records from him before he had a catalogue of his own, which is a fast four-label run for someone who had been making music seriously for about two years.
The records, 2022 to 2023
The releases from that stretch are club tools rather than listening pieces: the Berm On Them EP, SPIT and rOk tha bEEt all land in 2022 and 2023. Track titles from the period — 'Le Freak', 'Plane Ride Through the K Hole', 'Under Sheets (Take Me Back)' — set the register fairly honestly. They are blunt, they are funny, and they are aimed at the last two hours of a night rather than at a playlist.
The description of the sound is consistent across everyone who has written about it: heavy, dark and abstract, with the emphasis on atmosphere and pressure rather than melody. That is a narrower lane than mainstream tech house occupies, and it is the reason the London bookings that followed were the ones they were — regular slots at fabric, E1 and 93 Feet East, three rooms that between them account for most of what the city's underground circuit actually books.
uncut-GOLD
On 5 May 2023 he launched his own label, uncut-GOLD, with a single called 'History Lessons'. The original is a moody record built on textured percussion, warped bass and a hypnotic vocal fragment; the B-side is a remix by the UK producer Niteplan, which pushes the same parts into something rolling and more psychedelic, with a forceful low end, squealing synths and heavily processed vocals.
Starting a label three years into a career is a supply bet rather than a status move. It means being able to put out the records that do not fit whichever imprint is currently taking his A-sides, and it means keeping a catalogue that belongs to him while the bigger placements come and go. The uncut-GOLD launch sits between the run of guest releases and the major-label single that arrived three years later.
'Party Over Here', 29 May 2026
The current record is 'Party Over Here', released on 29 May 2026 through Spinnin' Deep, the deeper-leaning imprint of Spinnin' Records. It is tech house, 130 BPM, in G minor, and it is a collaboration with Detroit's Filthiest — the producer formerly known as DJ Nasty, who was central to the late-1990s ghettotech scene in Detroit and now runs the Motor City Electro Company imprint.
The pairing is the interesting part. Fielding's contribution is the trippy, atmospheric production he has been refining since 2021; what Detroit's Filthiest brings is a lineage that predates it by twenty-five years. It is a generational handshake rather than a novelty feature, and the record has been carried by DJs rather than radio: Chris Stussy, Joshwa and Alisha have all played it, and the label credits it with festival plays including Coachella.
Putting an underground producer on a major's dance imprint is also a distribution decision, and it came with a touring campaign attached — a nationwide 'All Nighter' UK tour built to take the track to dancefloors directly, and a launch-day release party in Dublin with on-the-ground activations around it.
Where he is now: a Thursday at Amnesia
The clearest measure of his standing is the 2026 Ibiza season, where he holds seven dates between July and October. It opens on 3 July at Playa Soleil, the venue formerly known as Bora Bora, for an After Hours party running 23:00 to 06:00. On 20 August he plays the main room at Amnesia for Josh Baker presents You&Me, and on 23 August he is at Eden for Accused. On 10 September he is back at You&Me, this time billed across both the Terraza and the main room.
The mid-September dates move him into daylight. On 13 September he plays 528 Ibiza for Max Dean presents NEXUP, across the garden and forest stages, 16:00 to 23:00; on 20 September he returns to 528 for Kaluki, from 17:00.
The season ends on 1 October with the You&Me closing party at Amnesia, doors at 16:00 and tickets from €80, with Fielding in the main room. Josh Baker plays both a sunset and a sunrise set that night, and Enzo Siragusa b2b Silva Bumpa are among the names spread across the rooms. Baker's residency was his first on the island and ran fourteen consecutive Thursdays from 2 July; Fielding was on three of them, which is a substantial share for a DJ who is not part of the resident core.
The UK side of the year
Away from Ibiza he has been headlining his own billings rather than filling support slots. On Saturday 22 August 2026 he topped a Dance2dis event at the Barras Art & Design Centre in Glasgow, an eight-hour daytime party running 14:00 to 22:00 with supporting selectors drawn from Scotland and England and tickets sold through Resident Advisor. The promoter's copy leaned on the recent single and the EP work, and on his DJ support, which is the standard framing for an act whose name is doing the selling on its own for the first time.
The scale is worth being plain about. Skiddle lists thirteen upcoming events for him and around 1,578 followers on that platform, filing him under Solid Grooves and Hottrax. That is a working circuit DJ with a major-label single and an Ibiza main-room summer behind him, not an arena draw — the bookings are club rooms, day parties and festival stages, and the touring is continuous rather than campaign-shaped.
The show, now
A Fielding show in 2026 is a DJ set in a club, with no staging beyond the house rig — the variables are the room and the slot length. In Ibiza this summer that meant long overnight shifts inside 23:00-to-06:00 parties, including the Amnesia main room for Josh Baker presents You&Me on 20 August and 10 September, plus daylight sets at 528 Ibiza on 13 and 20 September that started at 16:00 and 17:00 respectively. In the UK he has been the headline name rather than the opener: at Barras Art & Design Centre in Glasgow on 22 August he closed an eight-hour daytime Dance2dis party running 14:00 to 22:00, with supporting selectors from Scotland and England warming the room ahead of him and tickets sold through Resident Advisor. The material is his own catalogue plus current club records, with 'Party Over Here' the obvious centrepiece since May, and the sound is the heavy, dark, atmospheric tech house the releases trade in rather than a peak-time singalong set. Three dates are on sale now, the largest being the You&Me closing party at Amnesia on 1 October, doors 16:00, tickets from €80, where he plays the main room on a bill that also has Josh Baker doing separate sunset and sunrise sets and Enzo Siragusa b2b Silva Bumpa across the rooms.
