Clark, New Jersey, and a SoundCloud upload

Jane Remover was born in Newark on 26 September 2003 and moved to the township of Clark, New Jersey, around 2011. The beat-making began at roughly the same age, learned from dubstep records — Skrillex among them — and stayed private until late 2019, when the first uploads appeared on SoundCloud under the name dltzk.

That account became one of the anchors of digicore, the online scene of pitched vocals, blown-out drums and emo guitar samples that formed during lockdown. The Teen Week EP arrived on 26 February 2021, carrying "Homeswitcher" with Kmoe, a song still played most nights. The debut album Frailty followed on 12 November 2021 through deadAir Records, the label Remover has worked with ever since. Pitchfork placed it 47th on its albums of 2021, and The Fader described Remover as the face of digicore — a description the five years since have been spent complicating. A single semester at The College of New Jersey ended when music became the job.

On 27 June 2022 the dltzk name was retired, with Remover explaining that the stage name had never sat right with them, and they came out as transgender, taking the name the records now carry. In early 2025 they described themselves as non-binary, putting it as not not trans, but not a trans woman either. They/them is the preference.

The guitar record, then the crash-out

Census Designated, released on 20 October 2023, traded the glitch for guitars. The songs run long, the production is closer to shoegaze and bedroom recording than to anything on the SoundCloud uploads, and the writing is diaristic in a way the earlier work buried under processing. It is the record that moved Remover from scene figure to something a rock audience could follow, and it opened the support slots that followed — brakence's Hypochondriac tour in 2022, JPEGMAFIA's Lay Down My Life run in 2024, and Turnstile's Never Enough dates in 2025.

Revengeseekerz, out on 4 April 2025 on deadAir, went hard the other way: digicore, EDM and rage, built to be loud rather than confessional, though the writing underneath stayed personal. Reception ran from enthusiastic to exasperated, largely along the same line — how much abrasion a listener would take. NPR's Sheldon Pearce compared the single "Dreamflasher" to strapping subwoofers to a slot machine and hearing the result as a bass-boosted video-game simulation. Toby Wilkins, writing for Silent Radio, said the track sounded as though Remover had stacked as many instrumentals as possible on top of one another and called it perhaps the most exhilarating musical experience he had had. Other reviewers found individual tracks stiff and the noise thinner than it looked.

The pivot point between the two modes was a standalone single. "Magic I Want U", released on 4 September 2024, took fuzzy guitars, breakbeats and trap chants and made a pop song out of them. Pitchfork gave it Best New Track and ranked it the tenth best song of 2024; Billboard listed it among pop songs from that year that deserved to be hits. It was eventually gathered onto the ♡ EP on 5 December 2025, a six-track set that collected the 2024 singles and added new material, including "Music Baby".

Leroy, Venturing and the other shelves

Remover has never kept the output under one name. As Leroy they invented dariacore, a sample-stacking dance style assembled from pop hooks and television screenshots, and have released five albums under that alias between 2021 and 2026. The most recent, Status Update Music, was self-released on 14 May 2026 with no label and no streaming rollout — Bandcamp and SoundCloud only. Leroy also remixes Jane Remover: "Music Baby (leroy Remix)" came out through deadAir on 22 April 2026, two tracks and about ten minutes, and the remix rather than the original is what the live show uses.

Venturing is the rock outlet. Its debut album Ghostholding was released by deadAir on 14 February 2025, closer to 1990s grunge and shoegaze than to anything in the main discography. Critics divided over it in a familiar pattern — one camp heard a sprawling, harsh kind of beauty, tighter in construction and rougher in texture than the earlier guitar work, another heard production that was flat and ugly by design. A further Venturing single, "In the Dark", followed in 2026 and has since been folded into the closing stretch of the set.

Where it stands, autumn 2026

The step up this year was Coachella. Remover played the Sonora stage across both weekends in April 2026, a first festival appearance at that scale; the weekend-one set on 12 April ran seven songs, gave "Music Baby (leroy Remix)" its live debut, and closed on "Dancing with your eyes closed". An unofficial recording of the set was catalogued by fans within days.

The Live Exhibit tour was announced on 29 April 2026, structured as two North American stints with longtime collaborator dazegxd as direct support. The first ran through June — New York on the 4th, Toronto's Danforth Music Hall on the 9th, Chicago's Metro on the 12th, the Regency in San Francisco on the 15th and the Fonda in Los Angeles on the 18th — with Governors Ball in Flushing on 6 June alongside it. A Europe and UK leg with the same support went on sale in June.

The second stint, running from mid-September, grew after it was announced, which is the clearest read on demand. The single Boston night at Paradise Rock Club became two, on 20 and 21 September; a Terminal 5 show was added in New York on the 22nd; Philadelphia moved up from Union Transfer to Franklin Music Hall on the 25th and Atlanta from Variety Playhouse to The Eastern on the 27th; the Austin date landed at Stubb's on the 29th as part of ACL Nights. What remains as of late September is Dallas on the 30th, the Gothic Theatre in Englewood, Colorado on 3 October, Revolution Hall in Portland on the 6th, the Neptune in Seattle on the 7th, the Niteharts festival at Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego on the 9th, and a campus show at Middle Tennessee State University on 17 November. Remover is also a participant in the No Music for Genocide boycott, which has shaped where the catalogue is made available.

The set itself

Across the 22 Live Exhibit shows logged by fans so far, the show has settled into a stable 21-song shape, which is unusually disciplined for an artist whose records sound improvised. It opens with "TWICE REMOVED", "Beauty Sleep" and "Psychoboost", puts "Music Baby" fourth while the room is still fresh, then works through "angels in camo", "Audiostalker" and "Dreamflasher".

The middle is where the Census Designated material sits — "Flash in the Pan", "Star people", "push", "Fadeoutz" and "Drunk lullaby" — before "Professional Vengeance", the "Experimental Skin"/"How to Teleport" medley in its Leroy arrangement and "TURN UP OR DIE" push it back towards the dancefloor. "Dark night castle", "JRJRJR", "homeswitcher" and "In the dark" run the last quarter, and "Dancing with your eyes closed" has closed every logged night on the tour.
