The name he leads with

Almost everything on the public record about $lim Gucci arrives from two directions: streaming metadata and a tour advance. When Melodic Magazine covered the Grey Day 2026 announcement in spring, it stated the connection without ceremony — he is Scrim's brother. Scrim is one half of $uicideboy$, the duo whose Grey Day package began in 2019 in rooms holding around 2,500 people and now fills amphitheatres and arenas across the continent.

That relationship is the hook and also the trap, and he seems to know it. There is no label biography, no long-form interview in the trade press, and his own shop front carries no about page at all. Rate Your Music's credits index lists nineteen entries spread across producer, rap and featured-artist roles, which suggests a working history behind the boards that predates the solo name — but the detail of it has never been written up anywhere durable. The result is an artist who plays to tens of thousands of people a week with a biography that fits in a sentence.

A catalogue built at speed

The Apple Music discography shows how quickly the solo project has been assembled. Two albums landed in 2025 — 1000 miles from nowhere and it's not so bad over here — followed by nepo baby in 2026. Around them sits a dense scatter of shorter releases across 2026 alone: the singles born2lose, From da 870 to da boot, form and void // save us! and dont eat the brown acid, plus the EPs sendmeone 2k26 and END UP ON A SHIRT, JUST NEED A CLEVER MOTIF. The most recent is RIOT RIOT RIOT!, a one-track single issued on 22 September 2026, three days before this was written and mid-way through the tour.

The titles do a lot of the characterisation that the absent press cycle never got round to. They are lower-case, self-lacerating and geographically specific, and they read as if written in the same week they were released. 700blockbby remains the track most often surfaced by the identification and streaming services, and the 700 Block tag has hardened into a brand — it is stamped on the cap in his own store. That is the shape of the operation: release constantly, let the song titles say what an interview would, sell the merch off the back of it.

nepo baby, said out loud

Naming the 2026 album nepo baby is the only manoeuvre available to someone in his position that does not look like concealment. The accusation is obvious, it was going to be made anyway, and putting it on the sleeve removes it as a weapon while conceding the point. The accompanying merchandise collection on slimgucci.com runs to three pieces — a 700 Block Shop cap at $35, a Nepo Baby tee at $40 and a Nepo Baby hoodie at $70 — and all three were showing as sold out when the store was checked on 25 September 2026.

What the title cannot settle is the underlying argument. A support slot on the biggest independent rap tour in America is not something an unrelated artist at his streaming level would be handed, and no amount of irony changes that. The work has to carry it, and the work is being made at a pace that leaves very little room for editing.

How Grey Day works, and where he fits

Live Nation announced Grey Day Tour 2026 on 3 April: thirty-three North American dates running from 29 August at Mystic Lake Amphitheater in Shakopee, Minnesota, to 20 October at the Coca-Cola Amphitheater in Birmingham, Alabama. VIP packages went on sale on 2 April, general tickets the following morning. The support bill was built in legs — Destroy Lonely on the opening stretch to 25 September and again from 13 October, Shoreline Mafia in the middle from 26 September to 10 October — with Shakewell, DRAIN, Black Kray and $lim Gucci carried across the whole run rather than parcelled out by region.

That distinction matters more than the billing order. Being on every date, including the arena stops, means roughly three dozen performances in under two months in front of a crowd that did not come for him. Grey Day's commercial weight makes those rooms large: the tour has placed in Billboard Boxscore's top five rap tours for three consecutive years, and in 2025 it ranked fourth among the highest-grossing hip-hop tours, behind only Kendrick Lamar and SZA's Grand National run, Tyler, the Creator's Chromakopia tour and Nelly's Where The Party At.

The package also carries a charitable structure through PLUS1, with a dollar from every ticket directed to mental health work — a fixture of the Grey Day brand rather than a one-off for 2026.

The dates left on the board

Songkick listed eighteen remaining performances as the final month opened, beginning at Fiddler's Green Amphitheatre in Englewood, Colorado on 25 September and the Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre the following night. The run then crosses the north-west — Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle on 28 September, Cascades Amphitheater in Ridgefield on the 29th — before dropping into California for Shoreline Amphitheatre on 1 October, Glen Helen Amphitheater on the 3rd, Chula Vista on the 4th and the Save Mart Center in Fresno on the 6th.

From there it doubles up in the desert with two nights at Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre in Phoenix on 8 and 9 October and two more in Albuquerque on the 10th and 11th, then turns east through Austin on the 13th, the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans on the 14th, Atlanta on the 16th, Tampa on the 17th, Sunrise on the 18th and Birmingham on the 20th. Roughly sixteen of those remain on general sale.

A thin paper trail

For an artist playing arenas nightly, the documentary record is close to empty. setlist.fm has created a GREYDAY 2026 tour page under his name and it holds nothing — no setlists have been logged by any attendee, and the album statistics page returns no data at all. No published concert review singles out his set. What exists instead is informal: Instagram posts in which fans reconstruct or wishlist his Grey Day running order, and reaction videos working through the 2025 and 2026 releases.

That gap is the most honest description of his standing in September 2026. He is large enough to hold a full-run slot on one of the highest-grossing rap tours in the country, and small enough that nobody has yet bothered to type his songs into the database that catalogues everyone else on the bill. Which of those two facts turns out to be the durable one is the question the next record answers.
