Four borrowed catalogues, one Kraków stage: inside Monsters of Rock – Tribute Fest
A single-night, four-band tribute bill at Kraków's Klub Kwadrat on 7 November 2026, assembled by a promoter trading since 1992 and staffed by working musicians from Acid Drinkers, Turbo, Ceti and Flapjack. The first ticket tier has already gone.
A promoter's bill, not a brand
Monsters of Rock – Tribute Fest is not a revival of the British festival of the same name, nor a franchise of the Brazilian one. It is a one-night, four-band club show at Klub Kwadrat, ul. Skarżyńskiego 1 in Kraków, on Saturday 7 November 2026, doors and music from 18:00. The organiser is Galicja Productions, a Kraków concert agency that dates its founding to 1992 and describes its focus as rock and alternative music, running tours and festivals as well as one-off club nights.
The four acts on the bill each take on one catalogue: Polish Priest play Judas Priest, 4 Szmery play AC/DC, Orgasmatron play Motörhead, and The Legacy play Iron Maiden. The promoter's own copy keeps it blunt — four bands, one stage, several hours of guitar fire — and the ticketing listings carry the running order in that sequence, with The Legacy closing.
Tickets opened at 99 PLN, moved to 120 PLN for the second tier and are priced at 130 PLN on the day. As of mid-October 2026 the cheapest tier has sold through: KupBilecik lists the show from 120 PLN, and eBilet quotes 128.90 zł once its mandatory fees are added.
The venue and the circuit it sits on
Kwadrat is the student cultural centre of the Kraków University of Technology — Studenckie Centrum Kultury Kwadrat — an organisation established in 1992 that has grown into one of the city's steadier mid-size rooms. Its programme runs well past metal: rock, hip-hop, electronic and world music, plus stand-up, karaoke and board-game nights. T.Love, IRA, Homo Twist and Kasia Kowalska are among the Polish acts in its history, and its 2026–27 diary includes Xzibit, Baby Lasagna, DakhaBrakha and Happysad.
That last name is a Galicja booking too. The agency's autumn and winter calendar around the tribute fest includes a run of Illusion, Hostia and Iron Head dates across Polish cities from October to December 2026, Happysad's 25th-anniversary shows on 27 November in Kraków and 28 November in Katowice, Fuck Off Festival dates in Gdańsk on 7 November and Warsaw on 19 December, and a Polish Metal Alliance tour with Aquilla running January to February 2027. The tribute fest is a working night in a working calendar rather than a standalone event.
Four bands, four routes in
4 Szmery are the oldest of the four and the only one with a recording career of their own. Formed in 1998 by guitarist Jarosław Sroga and drummer Andrzej Tabor as an AC/DC tribute, they released two live albums in that format and built a reputation on refusing the costume side of the job — no schoolboy shorts, no wigs, the weight placed entirely on a vocalist who has to cover both Bon Scott and Brian Johnson. Guitarist Arek Kluczewski joined in 2014 and pushed the band towards original material.
The Legacy present themselves as the only Polish band dedicated to Iron Maiden, and their line-up reads as a cross-section of the country's metal scene: Jasiek Popławski on vocals, from The Kroach and Wolf Spider; Bartek Sadura on guitar, from Ceti and Corruption; Kuba Kaczmarek on guitar, also Ceti; Piotr Szpalik on drums, from Ceti, Polish Metal Alliance and Orgasmatron; and Tomek Targosz on bass, from Ceti, Polish Metal Alliance and Ballbreaker. Their sets are pitched as a cross-section of the whole Maiden discography rather than one era.
Orgasmatron came together to mark the fifth anniversary of Lemmy Kilmister's death, and the stated premise was that silence was the wrong tribute. The line-up is Titus of Acid Drinkers, Wojciech Hoffmann of Turbo, Maciej Jahnz of Flapjack, Michał Dolski and Piotr Szpalik of Ceti — names with their own audiences before any Motörhead song is played.
Polish Priest operate under the full title Polish Priest United Collective, and the word collective is doing real work. Wojciech Hoffmann and Michał "Mike" Dolski carry over from Orgasmatron, Arek Kluczewski from 4 Szmery, with Bogusz Rutkiewicz on bass and vocals, Iggy Gwadera on guitar and Margo Moyra on vocals — a woman fronting the Rob Halford parts, which is not the default choice in this corner of the circuit.
The records that exist behind the covers
For a tribute bill, there is more original output here than the format suggests. 4 Szmery's first album of their own songs, Roll, arrived in 2019; the band marked 25 years in 2023; and on 24 September 2024 they released 2_4, ten tracks produced by Kluczewski with Robert "Sierściu" Mastalerz on vocals, Andrzej Tabor on drums, Grzegorz "Gabi" Gruca on bass and Piotr Solnica on guitar, with guest vocals from Jacek Szwed and Barbara Furmańska. Coverage of the release framed it as a deliberate move away from the AC/DC image the band had been defined by, while keeping the same foundations — rock songs built for melody, with Mastalerz writing lyrics about ordinary lives.
The Legacy's current work is anniversary-shaped rather than album-shaped. Their 2026 touring runs under the name Killers Can Wait Tour 2026 Part II and is built around the 40th anniversary of Somewhere in Time, Iron Maiden's 1986 record and the point at which the band's sound turned more synthetic — Wasted Years, Stranger in a Strange Land and Heaven Can Wait are the touchstones.
The other two acts are live propositions by design. Orgasmatron and Polish Priest have no studio catalogue to sell; what they have is personnel, and a repertoire that is already written.
Where things stand in October 2026
The Legacy are mid-tour as the Kraków date approaches. Part II of the Killers Can Wait run took in Fabryka Kultury Zgrzyt in Lublin on 18 September 2026, Klub SEMAFOR in Skarżysko-Kamienna on 23 October and VooDoo in Warsaw on 25 October, with further dates listed in Toruń and Gdynia. The Kwadrat show lands roughly a fortnight after the Warsaw night, with the band well inside the set.
4 Szmery continue to work both halves of their identity — the Kraków bill is an AC/DC night for them, while their own dates carry the newer material; they play Lizard King in Toruń on 10 December 2026. Polish Priest have been touring clubs at the smaller end, including The Creek on Potocka 14 in Warsaw on 16 May 2025 at 70 zł with the Warsaw hard rock band Ballbreaker opening — a band whose bassist, Tomek Targosz, also plays in The Legacy. Orgasmatron's Warsaw show at Piękny Brzeg on 13 September 2025 ran with Diving Stove in support, doors at 19:00 and music from 20:00, billed at around 180 minutes.
Ticket feedback for the individual acts is unusually strong for the format. 4 Szmery hold an average of 4.98 out of 5 across 46 reviews on KupBilecik, with comments from buyers running to "something perfect for AC/DC fans and beyond". The Legacy sit at a clean 5.0 across 27 reviews, one of which notes approvingly that they played songs Maiden themselves never performed live. Orgasmatron's Warsaw date closed at 4.96.
The show, now
The night starts early by club standards — 18:00 at Klub Kwadrat — and is built as a straight four-band relay with no headline-plus-support hierarchy: Polish Priest open, 4 Szmery follow, Orgasmatron play third and The Legacy close, each on the same stage with no changeover spectacle. The promoter's framing is four bands, one stage, several hours of guitar fire, and the arithmetic supports it; Orgasmatron alone have billed their own headline shows at around 180 minutes, so the festival format means tighter, harder sets from each act rather than full-length ones. Staging is minimal by design: 4 Szmery have made a point for over two decades of not dressing as AC/DC, putting the weight on a vocalist who has to carry both Bon Scott and Brian Johnson, and the other three operate on the same principle — no costumes, no prosthetics, no Eddie. The repertoire is the draw. The Legacy are arriving off the Killers Can Wait Tour 2026 Part II, built around the 40th anniversary of Somewhere in Time, so Wasted Years and Stranger in a Strange Land sit alongside a wider sweep of the Maiden discography; one KupBilecik reviewer notes they have played songs Maiden never performed live themselves. Buyer ratings for the individual acts run high — 4.98 out of 5 across 46 reviews for 4 Szmery, a clean 5.0 across 27 for The Legacy, 4.96 for Orgasmatron's last Warsaw headline — and the recurring comments are about musicianship and energy rather than resemblance. Tickets opened at 99 PLN, that tier has gone, and the remaining ones are 120 PLN in advance or 130 PLN on the door.
