The Regensburg attic band opening for Vundabar in Munich
Nasal Wings are a sibling project from Regensburg who write, play, record and master everything themselves in a loft room in Bavaria. Two albums in, they take the support slot at Ampere in Munich on 26 September 2026 — the only date currently on sale.
A name handed down at the dinner table
The band explain their name plainly: their father used to say their nostrils fluttered when they sang, and took it as a sign of something greater moving through them. It stuck. There is no label mythology behind it and no press agent's idea in it, which is a fair indication of how the rest of the operation runs.
They are based in Regensburg, in the Upper Palatinate region of Bavaria, and the project grew out of a sibling connection and years of playing together before there was anything to release. The writing, recording, producing, mixing and mastering all happen in an attic studio there. Michl handles production, mixing and mastering under the name Schaumhaum, a Regensburg mixing and record-production outfit whose credit list runs from 2017 through to 2026 and includes Sons Of The East, TANKE, The Dreggs and KD alongside every Nasal Wings record. KD and Berko shape the words. Instrumentals come from Michl, from guitarist Adrian, and from a violinist also called Adrian — the band refer to the pair as Adrian².
The practical consequence of that arrangement is that nobody outside the group has had a say in what the records sound like. The producer is in the band, the studio is the house, and the release schedule answers to nothing but how fast the songs get finished.
Two albums, made where they live
The first full-length, Up To Go Deep, arrived in 2024 and runs to seven songs. The singles around it — Young Lights and Uni Verse, both 2024 — show the group already working with a wider palette than a guitar band normally carries: strings sitting under the vocal rather than decorating it, and rhythm parts built from hand percussion instead of a kit.
The second album, Yellow Breeze, was released on 29 August 2025 through Schaumhaum. It was trailed through the summer by a run of singles — Vans & Snails in August 2025, then Follow Fantasy and Cadavedo — and it is the record that pushed them past the German blogosphere into the wider indie-coverage circuit.
What the two albums have in common is a refusal to settle on one filing. The band describe themselves as an indie-fusion project drawing on alt-pop, psychedelic indie funk, folk and experimental grooves, which reads like hedging until the songs are played back-to-back and the description turns out to be accurate. Writers covering them have landed in three different places: indie folk, indie-pop and neo-soul, all for the same band inside a twelve-month window.
The songs that got picked up
Drowning Lake was written up on 31 October 2024 as a climate song rather than a mood piece — layered instrumentals and strings under a lyric that keeps returning to what is being lost. The review described it as swaying like water and as work whose raw-but-refined style catches both the beauty and the sorrow of the planet. It is the clearest example of the folk end of the group's range, and of a habit of putting a heavy subject inside a soft arrangement.
Vans & Snails went the other way. Written on the northern coast of Spain after one of the band noticed that a snail and a camper van travel at roughly the same philosophical speed, it is a fast, pastel-coloured indie-pop song that a reviewer in August 2025 placed in the company of Andrew Applepie and Home Counties. The band called it their summer and road-trip anthem, about slow living, coastal freedom and dancing through life at one's own pace — an unusually literal piece of writing from a group that usually deals in atmosphere.
Aquarius, also from Yellow Breeze and covered in August 2025, is the neo-soul corner of the record: smooth vocal, bongo pulse, bass, dreamy electric pianos, and a lyric that works the contrast between chaos and clarity, being lost and finding a way back through connection and through playing. Taken together the three tracks map the band's actual working range better than any genre tag does — a folk song about the climate, a road-trip pop single and a soul groove, all cut in the same attic by the same five people.
Where they stand in September 2026
The most recent item in the catalogue is a single called On Repeat, listed on Apple Music with a 2026 date, following Cadavedo and Follow Fantasy from 2025. A music video for Vans & Snails also went up in 2025. There is no third album announced.
Their standing is easy to state without inflating it. They are unsigned in the conventional sense — the records go out through Schaumhaum, which is their own producer's name — and their coverage to date has come from independent music blogs rather than the national press. Two albums, six or so singles and a video, all self-funded and self-made, is the position they are arguing from.
What is new is the billing. Support slots on European tours by American acts with eight-figure streaming numbers do not usually go to bands who master their own records in a loft, and the Munich date is the first evidence of the group being booked outside the circuit that has been writing about them.
The Munich date
The only Nasal Wings show currently on sale is at Ampere, the smaller room inside the Muffatwerk complex at Zellstraße 4 in Munich, on Saturday 26 September 2026, with the evening scheduled from 19:30 to 22:30. Tickets are handled through Eventim, with Live Nation Deutschland promoting.
They open for a co-headline pairing. Vundabar are a Boston trio formed in 2012 whose track Alien Blues turned into a streaming phenomenon — over 774 million plays on Spotify — and whose 2025 album was received as a more settled synthesis of the post-punk, grunge, math-rock and britpop strands they have worked through. Yot Club is the project of the Mississippi songwriter John Ryan Kaiser, whose 2021 track YKWIM? did much the same job for him, and whose most recent record, Simpleton, came out in 2026 and treats suburban American life as something largely illusory. The two acts first worked together in 2024, when Yot Club reinterpreted Vundabar's I Got Cracked; they toured the United States together in spring 2025, and the current run is a European co-headline tour.
It is a bill of lo-fi, jangle-pop and math-rock leanings, which makes the Regensburg group the odd entry — a band with a violinist and a bongo player opening for two acts built on guitars and drum machines. Whether that reads as contrast or as mismatch is the question the Munich set answers.
The show, now
The one date on sale is an opening slot: Ampere, the smaller room at Muffatwerk on Zellstraße 4 in Munich, on Saturday 26 September 2026, with the evening running from 19:30 to 22:30 and tickets through Eventim under a Live Nation Deutschland promotion. Three acts inside that three-hour window means the first set is a short one — long enough for perhaps half a dozen songs, and almost certainly drawn from Yellow Breeze, released in August 2025, with Vans & Snails the most likely opener or closer given it is the record's single and the only Nasal Wings track with a video. What the studio recordings point to on stage is a five-piece rather than a laptop set: guitar, bass, electric piano, violin and hand percussion under the vocal, since the bongo pulse on Aquarius and the strings on Drowning Lake are load-bearing parts rather than overdubs. There are no published reviews of a Nasal Wings live performance and the band have not had a run of listed dates before this one, so nothing about the set can be described from the audience's side yet.
