Ozbi and the fourth rakı-table record: a protest rapper in his fortieth year, still touring club rooms
Onur Dursun has spent fifteen years turning Anatolian folk repertoire and Istanbul street language into rap that his own listeners treat as protest music. In 2026 he released the fourth instalment of his Rakılı Live series, sang a Teoman song in April, and is playing a nine-date autumn run under the Ozbi Live Tour 2026 banner.
Kâğıthane, wedding halls, and a song called "Asi"
Onur Dursun was born on 30 January 1986 in Kâğıthane, on the northern edge of Istanbul, into a family whose roots are in Erzincan. He has been working with rap since the age of fourteen. In 2010 he enrolled at Anadolu University to read Turkish language and literature, and also went through acting training at Craft Tiyatro before settling on music rather than the stage. Earlier than either, he worked in family-run wedding venues in Anatolia, and the regional repertoire he absorbed there — bağlama lines, drawn-out vocal phrasing, the drinking-table lament — has stayed audible in everything he has recorded since.
His recording career dates from 2011, but the track that carried his name beyond rap circles was "Asi", released during the Gezi Park protests of 2013. It set the register he has never really left: first-person, argumentative, aimed at authority rather than at rivals, and written in the literary Turkish his degree course would have recognised.
Halk Edebiyatı and the Rakılı Live series
The first solo album, Halk Edebiyatı — folk literature — arrived on 8 December 2014. Two years later he began the project that has become his most durable idea: Rakılı Live, launched in 2016 with the singer Gülce Duru, a series of loose live recordings built around the sound of a rakı table rather than a studio grid. The first series appeared in 2016, the second in 2017.
Between the live records came Serserilik ve Şiir — vagrancy and poetry — released on 16 November 2018 through Garaj, the label that also carries the live series. Rakılı Live 3. Seri followed on 21 February 2020, by which point the format had stopped being a side project and had become the thing audiences asked for.
Features, tributes, and singles that took their time
Dursun's wider visibility owes a good deal to other people's projects. He appeared on Şanışer's mass-collaboration protest single "Susamam" on 6 September 2019, and contributed to 2020 Model, the 2020 album built around the writer Murathan Mungan's words. He has also recorded with Melek Mosso, Kayra and Da Poet.
His own output through this period came out single by single rather than album by album: "Sonu Yok" on 24 May 2019, "Geceyi Anlatmış" on 18 December 2020, "Sana Sormam" on 12 March 2021, "Parasetamol" on 4 June 2021, "Gece Görüşü" on 27 August 2021, "Bu Gezegen" on 25 March 2022 and "Sadece Biz" in 2023. "Geceyi Anlatmış" had the strangest afterlife of the lot: it reached number two on Turkey's Shazam Top 200 in April 2024, more than three years after release, which says something about how his catalogue actually reaches people — slowly, through other listeners, not through a release week.
The Enver Muhamedi period
The current phase of the work is a writing partnership with Enver Muhamedi. "Savaşçı", a duet with Sertab Erener credited to Dursun and Muhamedi, came out on 31 January 2025 and was pitched as the first single from a new album. Speaking in an interview published on 7 March 2025, Dursun described that album as holding both harsh songs and an introspective journey in which he pours out his inner self, and was blunt about the pace: he is not someone who makes easy songs, so these things take time. In the same conversation he refused to police the boundaries of the genre, citing jazz and pop as fair material if the emotional truth holds, and explained a parallel Olduğum Gibi / Studio Live project as a way of showing how the songs actually behave when played rather than programmed.
"Rant" followed on 16 May 2025, a single track of three and a half minutes. Then came "Sana Ne Be Bundan" on 22 August 2025 — lyrics by Dursun, music by Dursun and Muhamedi, mastered by Çağan Tunalı, with a video he directed himself — trailed at the time as the last step before an album due in September.
2026: a fourth series, and a Teoman song
What landed in the end was Rakılı Live 4. Seri, released to digital platforms on 30 January 2026 — his fortieth birthday. The videos rolled out through the early part of the year: "Duramam Ben", "Esasen", "Öldüm Ben Kaç Kere", "Ölüyorum Ölüyorum" with the bağlama player İsmail Tunçbilek, "Yangınım Benim" with Eylül Ergül and "Leyla'm" with Selin Sümbültepe. Ten years into the series, the guest list has widened from Duru's voice to a small rotating cast of folk and pop singers, and the arrangements sit closer to a band playing in a room than to anything a rap producer would recognise.
On 17 April 2026 he released "Renkli Rüyalar Oteli", the ninth single from the Teoman Şarkıları project, in which other artists reinterpret Teoman's catalogue. Dursun kept the song's emotional core and cut rap verses into it, which is roughly the move he has been making for a decade in the opposite direction — bringing rap to a repertoire that predates it, rather than importing that repertoire into rap.
A summer of festivals, an autumn of halls
The touring year has been dense. Songkick lists forty shows scheduled across 2026 and 17,796 people tracking him for alerts, with Istanbul his most-played city at fifty-four past performances. The summer was festival work: Olympos Orange Bar in Antalya on 21 August, then Gümüşlük Sahne in Muğla and Milyonfest Didim in early September, where he played the festival's Kırmızı Sahne on a bill with Pinhani, Dedublüman and Deja-Vu. Milyonfest İzmir followed on 3 October and the Oktoberfest X Antalya music festival ran 16–18 October.
The headline dates are branded Ozbi Live Tour 2026 and sit mostly in mid-sized rooms: IF Performance Hall Beşiktaş in Istanbul on 10 October, Hayal Kahvesi Bursa on 23 October, Hayal Kahvesi İzmir on 31 October, then three consecutive nights at Holly Stone Performance Hall in Isparta, Denizli and Antalya on 4, 5 and 6 November, Dorock XL in Istanbul on 20 November, and Holly Stone Aydın and Manisa on 26 and 27 November. Earlier in the year the same tour took in Jolly Joker Ankara on 12 June with a 21:00 start.

A 2026 Ozbi show is a headline club night rather than an arena production: the autumn run under the Ozbi Live Tour 2026 banner books IF Performance Hall Beşiktaş (10 October), Hayal Kahvesi in Bursa and İzmir (23 and 31 October), Holly Stone Performance Hall in Isparta, Denizli and Antalya on three straight nights (4–6 November), Dorock XL in Istanbul (20 November) and Holly Stone Aydın and Manisa (26 and 27 November), with tickets from ₺800 to ₺900 and late start times — the June date at Jolly Joker Ankara was billed for 21:00. None of the ticketing pages list a support act, so these are single-headliner nights; the festival appearances are the opposite, short sets on shared bills, as at Milyonfest Didim in early September where he played the Kırmızı Sahne alongside Pinhani, Dedublüman and Deja-Vu. The material is drawn heavily from the Rakılı Live records, which are themselves built from live-room performances with guest singers and, on Rakılı Live 4.
