The parodist who became a pop act: Przemek Kucyk's second lap round Poland
Przemek Kucyk built two million TikTok followers on village-shop characters and a red screen filter, then turned the joke into an EP and a touring show. Seven dates between 17 October and 26 November 2026 are the test of whether the second thing outlasts the first.
Boredom, a red filter and a school text
Przemek Kucyk, who turned 25 on 6 October 2026, started posting in 2020, during the pandemic and while revising for his school-leaving exams. By his own account the whole thing began out of boredom and a suspicion that he could make videos like the ones he was watching. He grew up in rural Poland in modest circumstances, and the material has never moved far from that: the recurring formats are Rodzina z Warszawy, a needling caricature of a Warsaw family, and Baba ze sklepu na wsi, set behind the counter of a village shop.
The visual signature matters as much as the writing. Kucyk shoots through a heavy red wash with abrupt cuts, borrowed from video-game styling and specifically from the Grand Theft Auto "Wasted" screen, which flattens the sketches into something closer to a cutscene than a vlog. The breakthrough clip was a comic reworking of Pan Tadeusz, the Mickiewicz epic every Polish teenager is marched through at school — a joke that only lands if the audience has sat the same exam.
The reach followed quickly. He holds over two million followers on TikTok and more than 400,000 on Instagram, and took the Debut of the Year prize at the 2022 Vibez Creator Awards. Away from the sketches he co-hosts the video channel Bliscy Znajomi with a collaborator known as Gina, and does radio work.
RANDOM: seventeen minutes, seven songs
Kucyk had been releasing music under his own name since 2024, including a Pan Tadeusz track, but the catalogue acquired a shape on 3 October 2025 with the EP RANDOM — seven songs, seventeen minutes, filed as pop. The tracklist runs Obiad u babci, Rage Mode, W ambulansie, Czarownica, POLSKA GUROM, Na przystanku and Piramida, several of which had already circulated as singles and as sketch material before being cut as records.
The subjects are the same ones the videos work: Sunday dinner at a grandmother's house, a ride in an ambulance, waiting at a bus stop. It is comic songwriting rather than novelty in the throwaway sense — the arrangements are straight pop, the jokes carried by the lyrics and the delivery, and the self-mockery is deliberate rather than accidental. Nothing on the EP runs long; the whole thing is shorter than a single side of most pop albums, which suits an audience that first met the material in forty-second instalments.
Releases since have kept the same cadence of frequent singles rather than another long project: KUCYK, Bollywood, Loczki, Frytki, U nas w Warszawie, Nienormalny, Obok Ciebie, and Polnische Welt, a song recorded in German. The most recent is NPC, out on 28 August 2026.
The Eurovision bid that was never received
POLSKA GUROM arrived on 2 October 2025 and became the largest thing he has released. The song is a catalogue of Polish self-image — Chopin, Lewandowski, folk costume, a dance break and a chorus in Polish — sung in an exaggerated, deliberately Polonised English. Kucyk stated plainly that the accent was a device, not a limitation. The model was Klemen's "Putin Putout", the Slovenian novelty hit of the previous Eurovision cycle, and the ambition was the same: to take a joke record into the national selection and out to the contest proper.
He announced that he was entering it for Poland's 2026 selection, and the video passed three million views on YouTube. It never reached the stage. When the shortlist was published, POLSKA GUROM was absent not only from the final line-up but from the twenty entries the jury advanced to live auditions. Konrad Szczęsny, one of the eleven jurors, said in an account published on 15 January 2026 that the song had simply not been among the submissions received, that jurors had asked the broadcaster to check again, and that TVP confirmed it was not there. Kucyk maintains he filed the form; he has not said whether something failed at his end.
The surrounding numbers were modest by recent standards — roughly 220 submissions, about fifty fewer than the year before, narrowed to twenty auditions and then to eight competitors after four withdrawals. The episode cost him the contest and gained him the story, which is roughly how his audience received it.
Autumn 2026
Kucyk goes into this tour with the broadest profile he has had. Television has picked him up: he appears in the second special instalment of The Floor VIP Challenge on TVN in October 2026, in the 20:50 slot, which puts the village-shop characters in front of a mainstream Polish audience that does not necessarily use TikTok.
The music keeps arriving in singles, the sketches keep arriving weekly, and the live show has become the third leg of the operation rather than a promotional afterthought. He has spoken about putting the money into rebuilding his parents' house, which is consistent with the register of the work — the comedy is about where he is from, not about having left it.
What he does not yet have is critical coverage. The songs are reviewed by their streaming counts and the shows by whether they sell; Polish music press has largely left both alone, and the written record of the first touring leg is the promoter's own announcement.
The second edition on the road
The first run was five dates in November 2025, all in small rooms: Klub Hydrozagadka in Warsaw on 4 November, 6-Ścian in Białystok on the 6th, Centrum Kosmos in Szczecin on the 10th, Królestwo in Katowice on the 13th and Fabryka Kultury Zgrzyt in Lublin on the 19th. The promoter reports those shows sold out, which is the stated reason for the larger second edition.
Skacz jak Kucyk Tour — roughly "jump like Kucyk", playing on a surname that means pony — runs seven dates across autumn 2026, all starting at 19:30: Szczecin on 17 October, Wrocław at Zaklęte Rewiry on the 23rd, Kraków at Hype Park on the 28th, Gdańsk at Echo Sfera on 7 November, Łódź at Klub Scenografia on the 14th, Poznań at Szum on the 21st and Lublin at Fabryka Kultury Zgrzyt on the 26th. Lublin closes both legs. Tickets are sold through Ticketmaster Poland and eBilet, with a meet-and-greet tier that adds entry to a pre-show session and, per the listing, an unspecified gift.
The billing is explicit that this is not a straight concert. The promoter promises new stories, more laughter and surprises alongside the live meeting itself, which places the evening between a gig and a stand-up set built from the characters. The running time is fixed and short by touring standards.
The show, now
The current show is Skacz jak Kucyk Tour, the second edition of a run that started as five sold-out club dates in November 2025. Seven dates are on sale between 17 October and 26 November 2026, all with a 19:30 start, in venues of club and small-hall size: Szczecin, Zaklęte Rewiry in Wrocław, Hype Park in Kraków, Echo Sfera in Gdańsk, Klub Scenografia in Łódź, Szum in Poznań and Fabryka Kultury Zgrzyt in Lublin. The Gdańsk listing gives the full shape of an evening: meet-and-greet from 17:00 to 18:00 for that ticket tier, doors at 18:30, and a performance from 19:30 to 21:00 — ninety minutes. The billing describes new stories, surprises and a live meeting rather than a straight set, which fits an artist whose songs and sketches share the same characters; the RANDOM material is short enough that the sung portion cannot fill the slot alone. The audience skews young and the terms reflect it: under-12s need an accompanying adult, who is admitted free, and 16- to 18-year-olds can attend alone with written parental consent. Shows are filmed for video and promotional use, and attendance counts as consent to that. No music-press reviews of either leg have appeared; the evidence for how the first run went is the promoter's statement that the 2025 dates sold out, which is also its stated reason for scaling up to seven.
